0

Hey Guys, when you have a few minutes spare read this article - Has Twitter gone crazy? Or are they getting too big for their booth? I am astonished about what I have just read in this article about Twitter and the The New York Police Department latest incident. Twitter has become one of the top 10 most viewed site on the net and the question is “where do you draw the line”, I suppose because of its sheer size and dominance on the net, Twitter will be open to all sorts of threat.

For example, let’s look at Twitter the social media tweeting platform. Twitter had only 6 million users four years ago, and it now has 140 million--an explosive 428% spike. Now let’s look at Facebook now one of the largest search engine social media platform. Facebook skyrocketed from 100 million users to 900 million during the same period as Twitter.

Recently, the London Summer Olympics captured the worldâ??s attention, and social media played a much bigger role in amplifying that attention than ever before. As the Associated Press reported before the games even began in late July, the growth in social media has skyrocketed since the 2008 Beijing Olympics. How the Facebook’s ”Promoted Posts” Feature Can Spell the Death knell for Small Businesses

0

If you have not been living under the rock for a while, you must have noticed the ongoing buzz around the all-new “promoted posts” feature of Facebook. On the surface, this looks like a feature that’s devised to help the business owners and internet marketers to spread the message to a larger audience. However, if you take a closer look, you will realise that the whole thing has been set up for collecting some serious revenue from the businesses.

It doesn’t matter whether the business users are using the organic Facebook marketing methods or the paid Facebook platform, if they want users to flock their websites and business pages, they have to pay to the Facebook. So how do you think that Facebook has managed to pull off this unbelievable feat under the veil of helping its users? Read on.

In the promoted posts, you have the option of paying to the Facebook to promote your posts. The surprising part is; the Facebook would take money from you to promote and spread your posts among your own fans. That just means that if you have spent thousands on building a large audience now is the time to pay to the Facebook to take your message to these users.

Features of Facebook:

The logic is simple; larger the audience, higher will be the amount you have to pay to the Facebook; that is if you want to reach all of them. However, there are many users who have reported the awesome effectiveness of this feature to reach thousands of users by paying a small amount, but still it’s just ridiculous. Facebook is demanding money for something, which should be its inbuilt free feature. I mean that’s why people join for these social networking sites. They want to reach their thousands of fans free of cost. No doubt, the move will spell a death knell for small businesses, but the fact of the matter is that it will also severely affect the Facebook, with a sharp decline in Facebook users.

Social Media Mind-Blowing Statistics

Facebook claims that 50% of active users log into the site each day. This would mean at least 175m users every 24 hours… A considerable increase from the previous 120m.
Twitter now has 75m user accounts, but only around 15m are active users on a regular basis. It’s still a fair increase from the estimated 6-10m global users from a few months ago.

World’s Largest Social Media Site

0

According to the data gathered via the Facebook advertising tool, the world's largest social media site added another 11.8 million users in May, though even that was a slowing compared with April, when it added 13.9 million.

Both those numbers were slower, though, compared with the 20 million who have typically been added each month over the past year to take the site to 687 million "monthly active" users – who log in at least once per month.
